Sugar and Plum

We have kept Sugar and Plum as their names and absolutely love them to pieces. They have been adjusting very well and each of their personalities has started to shine! My partner Felipe, and I live in an apartment in Hamden, where they are thriving and officially own the place (especially with no other pets!). We kept their dry food the same as they were eating at The Animal Haven, and we are still experimenting with wet food to find the flavors and textures they love the most. They absolutely LOVE Churus, and it is our nightly routine to give them a Churu and some pets! 

Though they are still quite shy, they are making progress every day in being comfortable around us. We are able to give some gentle pets while they are having their treat, and they are growing accustomed to being close to us while we are home. Sugar does sleep with us at night (once she is certain we are asleep!), and Plum is able to sit calmly while we walk around him. They each have their favorite toy – Plum loves his springs, and Sugar loves to just play with shoelaces! That was a recent discovery this week – we cut the plastic end off of a long boot shoelace and tie it off, and she goes CRAZY running after it! They also both thoroughly enjoy the laser.

We absolutely LOVE Sugar and Plum and are so proud of them every day. We are so grateful to be their forever home!! I know that everyone at The Animal Haven put so much time, effort, and love into helping them be comfortable around people, and it really shows with their bravery and progress every day.
