StevieNicks

Stevie, or StevieNicks (1 word) is a real sweetheart, affectionate, but not yet a lap sitter, must have her playtime and will sit in front of my husband, staring at him until he responds.
Her favorite toys have feathers. All our previous cats liked balls, mice, pretty much everything. Not StevieNicks. When we brought her home, we only had one toy with feathers, a wand with feathers on the end of the string. It was the only toy she would play with, and she wore it out while we waited for the box from Chewy to arrive with new toys. Fortunately, I had ordered another wand. She does play with the other feather toys, but the wand is still the best. She even carries it from the living room into our bedroom sometime during the night and leaves it next to my husband’s side of the bed.
She’s our only pet. We live in an apartment, which has windowsills wide enough for her to sit on. We also have multiple bird feeders in the garden outside the living room, so there’s usually some kind of bird or squirrel activity going on for her to watch.
Even with multiple scratchers available, she still often scratches on the backs of the chairs. Fortunately, she will stop when addressed and hasn’t done any real damage. I was planning to have the dining room chairs reupholstered, but I think I’ll wait for a while and hope she grows out of the furniture scratching phase soon.
I feed her multiple small meals a day, because if the food in her dish gets too dried out, she won’t eat it. She is not at all interested in “people food,” which is just fine. Doesn’t jump up on the counter or bother me when I’m cooking.
She’s a great cat, lots of company and lots of personality, and we’re very glad to have her.
