Snow White

I remember Snow White arriving at Animal Haven in January 2023 a scared, anxious, emaciated dog who looked completely defeated. Coming to the shelter undoubtedly saved her life as she was given the veterinary care she needed, (GAMC and the staff at the shelter saved her from losing her tail!), was rehabilitated and shown love and care from everyone – staff to volunteers and anyone else she met. She learned to be a dog again. As a volunteer, I remember walking her in the woods for the first time and seeing her just take in all the smells – like she had never been in the woods before. She appreciates the simple things. Just sitting outside and taking it all in, watching the birds, etc is something she still loves to do, in her chair on the deck at our house. She likes to swim, play in the yard with my other dog, go for walks and hikes, and snuggle. She loves my other dog Blue,  as you can see in the photos. We are working with a trainer to properly introduce her to our cats – so far she is doing great in her training and we’re really optimistic about that happening in the future. In the meantime, they live separately. No eating or health issues. She is my very best friend. I can’t imagine life without her now. Thank you.
