Marty & Kaya

Jean-Luc is now Marty, and Marble is now Kaya.

They are adjusting well. Marty is about 2-3 weeks ahead of Kaya’s comfort level; she takes a little longer. Marty thinks he owns the house now and enjoys doing his rounds of all the different windows. He is allowing pets and belly rubs when he’s too tired to care.

Kaya likes to sleep more on different surfaces. They think our bed is theirs during the day. She’s started exploring windows as well. 

They love when the windows are open (there are screens). They can hear all the birds in the bushes and at the feeders, and are fascinated by rain.

We often hear them playing together when the house is quiet and they play with us with the laser pointer and ribbon toy. 

Oh, and they’ve discovered TV! We put on bird or fish shows for them to watch; we just have to monitor when they get excited and start tapping the screen! 

Everything seems good still. Eating well, sleeping well. Happy and healthy.
