Gracie

I adopted Gracie (formerly known as Helium) in early March and frankly this was a splendid decision. 

She has been a wonderful addition to my small family which consists of my cat, Annie and myself, along with my fiancé, Vincent.

As a volunteer at The Animal Haven as a cat socializer I knew there might be an opportunity to adopt a cat.

However, I truly was not expecting to do so.

Annie has been with me for 9 years and she, too, was a rescue.

She is now 18 years old and her age has become a bit of a concern to me but she is still my baby! Always has been and always will be.

Late in February, however,  I entered room # 8 and encountered the sweetest cat and I fell in love with her immediately ! Her name was Helium and she was 2 years old.

She immediately nestled in my lap and purred incessantly. My first thought was that she would make a wonderful mate for Annie.

Her sweet, docile and calm demeanor was that of Annie’s nature.

The transition to her new home has been most benign, even effortless.

She adapted beautifully to her new surroundings and she and Annie are slowly becoming friends! 

She continues to be a very affectionate feline who loves to be loved and petted and she is a real lap cat.

She sleeps with me every night and will not leave the bed until I awaken.

I was told she was a stray and frankly I don’t know anyone could have let this precious little creature out their sight.

She is such a sweet beautiful little girl and I feel honored that I was given the privilege to adopt her.
