Daisy

Her new name is Daisy. She is doing well. I do my best to take her for an early quiet morning walk and early evening walk to do her business. During the day, I take her out when she needs to go and when there are very few (or no one one else around). I am the only person in her new family. I have not yet introduced her to my adult son and daughter-in-law or my daughter and son-in-law. She still has lots of anxiety towards strangers, but it seems it is a tad bit improved. No eating or health issues. She gets meals twice a day with a couple of snacks/ treats during the day. I feed her the same food that she was getting at the Shelter. She has gotten used to the various noises and sounds around her (next door apartments and outside). She is an absolute LOVE-BUG with me; always either in the same room with me, or sitting next to me on a chair, or sitting on the bed with me (which is also where she sleeps at night). She loves to play several times a day with her favorite toy (from the Shelter) and one other new toy. Up until yesterday, I was putting her in the crate when I had to go out, but she has now decided she will NOT go into the crate and prefers to be under the kitchen table instead. Yesterday, I sat for 45 minutes waiting for her to come out from under the table (stubborn little girl), I finally gave up. I put the gate up to keep her in the kitchen so she could stay under the table. I gave her the usual treats she gets when I put her in her crate and told as I walked out the door, “Don’t disappoint me (no trouble and no destroying anything).” I was only gone for about an hour and when I arrived home, all was quiet. She did not get into anything, was happy to see me and met me at the door.  And NO “zoomies” (as she did when I let her out of her crate) when I arrived home; just a wagging tail and a smile.
