Amos

Things have been going well with Spider, who now goes by “Amos”.  He always keeps us on our toes.  He’s a goofy little guy that is so full of energy!

He makes a mess of cat toys ALL over our house, which makes us laugh.  He loves to play fetch with his mouse toys and drag wand toys from room to room.  He’s also a little hunter! We have the occasional field mouse in our house, and he caught one recently!  His sister Bobbie has some competition now.

From the moment we’ve brought him home he was very comfortable.  He loves cuddling with myself and my husband.  Often I will carry him around holding him like a baby, which he loves.  Sometimes he will even fall asleep while being held.  He’s also my little shadow following me all around the house.

When we have guests over, he loves to introduce himself and get pets and play time from our friends.  We are so happy he’s feels comfortable enough not to hide!

We have a 4 year old cat, Bobbie (Female), in the home as well.  It has definitely been an adjustment period, but there has been good progress.  Bobbie still growls and hisses at Amos, but I’ve caught them playing together much more recently.

My husband and I have even caught them sleeping on our bed together a few times…. Sleeping on opposite sides of the bed, but it’s still something!

Amos hasn’t had any issues eating!  During his first appointment with his vet, they noted that he had a heart murmur.  We brought him back a few weeks later, and the murmur was no longer present.  They don’t think that it will be an issue going forward, but it will be continued to be monitored.

Also, just this week actually, we had to bring Amos to urgent care.  He developed an eye infection, likely conjunctivitis.  The vet said otherwise everything looks good with his eye.  He’s currently wearing a cone for a week and receiving eye drops 2x a day.  We are hoping everything clears up quickly!

I’ve included some photos of the little guy!  We keep saying how we can’t believe how quick he’s getting!
